Redbox Review – Best Way to Rent Movies or Just a Total Scam?

Welcome to my review of		Redbox!

There has been some buzz about this company lately so I decided to investigate what it was all about…

Chances are you've seen these somewhere near your grocery store or Walgreens and want to make sure it's a good deal right?

First, congratulations on actually doing your research and you didn’t just jump in on the hype…

So many people do that and get burned…

And no one wants to get burned…

So in this blog post, I am going to walk you through the company, the products and offerings and costs so you can make the right decision to use it or not…

Redbox Review – The Company

Redbox        originally launched in 2002 and is owned by Outerwall (formerly Coinstar).

This whole concept was created     after testing began within McDonald’s Ventures LLC, Redbox started counting its locations and rentals by the hundreds instead of the handfuls.

Redbox        specializes in the USA by providing     competitive prices on movies and video game rentals.

Fast forward then    In 2010, Redbox rented its 1 billionth disc and also started renting Blu-ray™ Discs.

In 2016, they nearly hit $76 million. Their rise helped spur the demise of Blockbuster Video in 2011.

Today, Redbox is located at some of the largest retailers nationwide, where Americans have rented more than 6 billion discs.

Redbox launched Redbox On Demand in 2018 to deliver a broader selection of movies and TV shows via transactional video-on-demand (VOD) and electronic sell-through (EST).

In 2019, Redbox launched Redbox Entertainment, a new division to produce and distribute original content across its services. Through Redbox Entertainment, the company released The Fanatic (starring John Travolta) and Running with the Devil (starring Nicolas Cage and Lawrence Fishburn) through VOD and at the kiosk.

Redbox Review – The Products

Redbox    provides movie and video game rental all over the USA except Alaska.

The good news when companies like     Redbox        pop up, the big corporations can’t have that monopoly in the marketplace.



They do provide competitive prices and you can compare for yourself.

Redbox Review – The Competition

There is a lot of competition when it comes to the movie rental space in the entertainment industry…

Here are the following companies competing with each other…

    Amazon

    Vudu
    Google Play
    Warner Brothers

Redbox Costs and Fees

    Their prices start at $1.80 a day for DVDs and $2 a day Blu-ray™ Discs.

    You can earn free movie night rentals via Redbox Perks.

    You can Rent a new-release cheaper than cable.

    The good news is No monthly subscription is required

    Overall, the cost is fairly cheap, but not as strong as lets say Amazons 99 cent rentals.

CONCLUSION

    Overall,     Redbox    is NOT a scam…

    It’s a legit business and has been in the marketplace for almost 20 years now and counting.

    Not to mention, they have rented billions in discs and expanded all over the USA.

    The good thing is most people rent movies and as far as in-person disc rental there isn't much competition.

    The bad thing is that if you forget to return the disc the late fees and penalties can ADD UP FAST!

So don't be late!

    I've even seen people pay $30 or more if they're late.

    But overall they provide a good value for the price.

    And provide some of the older generations a good alternative with BlockBuster Video having gone under.

Nike Review – Best Athletic Apparel or Just a Overrated Scam?

Welcome to my review of     Nike!

Everyone knows about this huge conglomerate which took off in the 80's, but they've had some competition lately so I decided to take a closer look.

Chances are you've seen tons of ads and marketing about them, but want to make sure their prices and quality are the best, right?

First, congratulations on actually doing your research and you didn’t just jump in on the hype…

So many people do that and end up with a product they could've gotten better elsewhere at a better price…

And no one wants to get burned…

So in this blog post, I am going to walk you through the company, the products and offerings and costs so you can make the right decision to use it or not…

Nike Review – The Company

Nike    named for the Greek goddess of victory,    originally launched in 1964 in Eurgene, Oregon as Blue Ribbon Sports by Bill Bowerman, a track-and-field coach at the University of Oregon, and his former student Phil Knight.

They opened their first retail outlet in 1966 and launched the Nike brand shoe in 1972. The company was renamed Nike, Inc., in 1978 and went public two years later.

Nike        specializes in worldwide marketing and sales of footwear, apparel, equipment, accessories, and services.

In 1971 a graphic design student named Carolyn Davidson designed the swoosh for $35.

With major strategic alliances with the worlds best athletes including signing Michael Jordan in 1984, rise of Nike athletes in the 1984 Olympics, and many others, Nikes net income went from $700 million in 1978 to $4 billion in 1997.

They have continued to grow exponentially to now reaching over $30 billion in revenue.

Nike's market share rose from 16% in 2011 to 27% in 2020.

Today, Nike is the worlds most dominant athletic wear provider.

Nike Review – The Products

Nike    provides all types of activewear including footwear, sportswear, sports equipment, bodycare, and accessories.

Their overall products are considered high quality but on the higher side of the pricing scale.

Known best for their shoes, with the rise of Michael Jordan's line or Air Jordan in the 80's and 90's, they then branched into MANY different lines.

They do provide competitive price wear as well and you can compare for yourself.

Nike Review – The Competition

There is a lot of competition when it comes to athletic apparel and the activewear industry…

Here are the following companies competing with each other…

The North Face
Columbia
Champion
Athleta

Russell

Nike - Costs and Fees

Their prices have risen faster than the S&P 500 by almost 500% in the last 12 years

So it's become not only the biggest but also the most expensive activewear company.


You can even get a pair of shoes from them for OVER $1,000!!

The good news is you can also get the Air Max Oketo Men's Sneakers, Size: 10.5, White for only $45.00 online

Overall, the cost is wide ranging but you can certainly get cheaper and lower quality apparel with their many competitors.

Nike Review – The Verdict

CONCLUSION

Overall,     Nike    is NOT an overrated scam…

It’s the #1 leader in activewear and athletic apparel. Nike even touts itself as a powerful driver that shapes the way we see athletics in general.

This may be true. But it's built it's power off of the backs of tremendous athletes, not to mention, it's dominating rise during it's wildly successful Michael Jordan campaigns in the 80's and early 90's.

This is where Nike took it's spot as the top activewear provider.

Some even say that Michael Jordan did this for Nike single-handedly.

And Michael is still paid very handsomely for it. (Personally, I still remember feeling absolutely elated as a kid when, on one of the best birthdays I ever had, my parents got me my very first Air Jordan's. I'll never forget that moment.)

But don't forget the 35 medals that Nike athletes took home from the 1984 Olympics, and other star athletes such as Andre Agassi, Bo Jackson, Kobe Bryant, and many more.

But often when you're buying Nike shoes, just know you're paying for the brand.

And a similar pair of shoes that works well and is of very similar quality can be bought for a much lower price.

So don't be fooled! But know that when you buy a Nike shoe IT IS certainly a high quality shoe.
However, there are tons of options out there…
